How we work

No obligation discussion, advice, and support for your project

Installing Air conditioning or as they are known now, Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP) is not a simple task although at a quick glance it seems simple.

The first challenge is to ensure you have the right unit to cover the area you are considering. You also must plan the installation of the outdoor unit which has other implications.

It is not commonly understood that these units, when installed become part of the ‘fabric’ of the building and therefore fall under building regulations. Incorrect installation may cause you issues further down the line.

Site survey and consultation

We will set a convenient time to come and visit you. Each visit will take between 30 minutes and an hour depending on the challenges that we find during our discussions with you.

In preparation for your site survey, you should consider your preferred locations for the units, any manufactures that you would prefer to use (AC Air are manufacturer agnostic), the location of available power sources and routes for pipework.

We spend time looking for the best solution for you which may involve a little lateral thinking as we pride ourselves in the aesthetics of our work, leaving you with an environment that is not only comfortable but adds value to your home.

Following our visit, we will produce a quote/s for you to cover the agreed parameters that were discussed. This includes supply fitting and commissioning of your unit/s.

Installation preparation

Prior to arrival onsite, we will order your equipment and ensure it is the correct hardware for your project. We also acquire spares and stock that is required for your installation. We also talk with manufacturer technical teams if needed to ensure that we are well prepared for your installation.

Installation day

We usually aim to be on site between 08:30 and 09:00. Most installations will take around 6 hours or more depending on how many units you are installing. (this may run into multiple days)

We will provide dust sheets for all our internal work and hoover up and dust that we create. Each internal unit will require a hole for pipework access that is normally made behind the unit, hiding it from sight.

All electrical work is undertaken by certified personnel ensuring that we meet and exceed building regulations.

All pipework and ducting if fitted are installed by FGAS certified personnel again ensuring that we meet building regulations.

Once we have completed the installation, the entire system is strength tested, leak tested and evacuated before we can commission the unit.

Once commissioned, the unit/s are tested to ensure that they meet the manufactures specifications and operate correctly.

We run through the remote controls for you ensuring that you are familiar with the system.

Once this is complete, we will update the paperwork and warranty registration documentation, having you signoff an acceptance document to confirm that you are happy with our work.
